Missing man’s body discovered in ventilation system of Michigan college

The body of a Michigan man who had been missing for weeks was found in the ventilation system of Macomb Community College. The remains of 36-year-old Jason Thompson were discovered by campus police on Sunday while they were investigating a foul-smelling odor at the Macomb Center for the Performing Arts. Thompson had been reported missing on Nov. 1 after leaving his family’s apartment in Sterling Heights on Oct. 25. There is currently no suspicion of foul play, according to Macomb College Police Chief William Leavens, but the investigation is ongoing. The college expressed condolences to Thompson’s family and friends and is awaiting the results of the medical examiner’s report to determine the cause of death. No further details about the case have been provided at this time.
