The Office of International Students and Scholars at the University of Arkansas is preparing to welcome over 200 new international students this fall. To assist with the onboarding process, the office is offering a series of events and resources to provide important information to the incoming students.
One of the key events is a virtual session on Welcoming and Onboarding International Students for Fall 2024, scheduled for Aug. 1 from 3-4 p.m. Immigration Basics, a required half-day event, will begin on Aug. 5 and is essential for new students before they can register for classes. International Welcome Days, including Grad Welcome Day on Aug. 9 and Undergrad Welcome Day on Aug. 13, will give students an overview of campus life and how to thrive in their new environment.
The International Arrival Guide, a 50-plus page document, offers answers to common questions and concerns for incoming international students, from setting up UARK accounts to finding housing and fun activities after arrival.
Faculty and staff are encouraged to engage with the guide and share the link with any students seeking information about their arrival. To learn more about the onboarding process for international students at the University of Arkansas, a virtual discussion will be held on Aug. 1 at 3 p.m. For more information or to request a recording of the session, email the ISS Welcome and Belonging team at issworld@uark.edu.
