Fayetteville-based folk label Gar Hole Records has announced the addition of the fiddle and banjo duo Two Runner from Northern California to its roster. The label has been experiencing significant growth, with recent additions including singer-songwriters from Oakland, Austin, and New Orleans. Despite the expansion, Gar Hole maintains its commitment to quality and authenticity, with artists like Desiree Cannon and Creekbed Carter Hogan receiving praise from critics.
Gar Hole’s success was evident in 2023, with four albums by Arkansas-based artists making it onto Paste Magazine’s “30 Best Country, Folk and Americana Albums of 2023” list. The label’s scope has also widened beyond Arkansas, as demonstrated by the recent signings of artists from various locations.
Looking ahead, fans can expect new singles from Nick Shoulders and Two Runner, as well as Maddy Kirgo’s sophomore record “Shadow on My Light” in the coming months. With a growing roster of talented musicians, Gar Hole Records continues to make a mark on the folk music scene.
