The Arkansas Latino Hall of Fame (ALHOF) has announced its inaugural class of inductees, honoring four individuals and one organization for their significant contributions to the state and their fields. The ceremony will take place on October 24th at the Wyndham Riverfront Hotel in North Little Rock.
Among the inductees are Dr. Andre Guerrero, who has dedicated his career to advancing educational equity, Roberto Martinez, a successful farmer and community leader, Dr. Fabricio Medina-Bolivar, a plant metabolic engineer and advocate for higher education, Lisette Yang, a victim advocate and forensic interviewer, and El Centro Hispano, an organization providing vital services to the Latino community in Arkansas.
ALHOF Chair Angele Galvis Schnuerle emphasized the importance of recognizing individuals who have enriched the state and inspired future leaders. The criteria for induction includes making enduring contributions to their field, impacting the well-being of the community, elevating the status of Latinos, opening new frontiers, and inspiring others.
Nominees for the Hall of Fame can come from various fields such as education, business, sports, and the arts. Tickets for the induction ceremony can be purchased through the ALHOF website.
