Violent clash between police and crowd erupts near scene of deadly stabbing attack that claimed lives of 3 girls in UK

Far-right protesters caused chaos in the town of Southport, England, following a Taylor Swift-themed event. Protesters threw bricks at police officers, set vehicles on fire, and attacked a mosque. The violence erupted after false online rumors fueled anger among the crowd, resulting in more than 20 officers being wounded by bottles and stones. Prime Minister Keir Starmer condemned the violence and stated that a peaceful vigil had been hijacked by the far-right group English Defence League.

The violence was reportedly inspired by rumors surrounding the identity of a 17-year-old male suspect arrested for the fatal stabbings of three young girls and injuring 10 others. The Liverpool Region Mosque Network decried the attack as an assault on society and reiterated that the act was not related to the Muslim community. Police officers in riot gear faced bricks and fireworks from the crowd, resulting in injuries to 22 officers, including fractures and lacerations.

The tragic incident occurred after the girls had participated in a dance workshop when a teen entered and began a vicious attack. Home Secretary Yvette Cooper described the event as an unspeakable tragedy that resulted in the deaths of three young children. Taylor Swift, who had hosted the dance class, expressed shock and conveyed her sympathies to the families affected by the tragedy.

The 17-year-old suspect remains in custody, and the incident has reignited concerns about rising knife crime in the UK. Prime Minister Starmer, while visiting the crime scene, faced criticism from the public, demanding action to prevent such horrific incidents in the future. The government has been urged to address the issue of knife crime and ensure the safety of communities across the country.
