Raise a glass for Olde World Pizza: Building owner plans to convert property into office space

Former Olde World Pizza building demolished on W. Third St. in Little Rock
The former Olde World Pizza building on W. Third St. in Little Rock has been demolished. The building, which once housed several restaurants over the years, was owned by lobbyists Ted Mullenix and Julie Mullenix.
Ted Mullenix stated that the building was old and difficult to rehab, leading to its demolition. Plans for the lot have not been finalized, but the Mullenixes hope to build a new office building that blends in with the State Capitol.
They also own surrounding lots and are in talks to potentially lease or sell the property for the right opportunity. A company owned by the Mullenixes previously submitted a proposal to build a new office building for the Arkansas Public Employees Retirement System at 1700 W. Third St., but the process has been delayed by downtown stakeholders.
Mullenix believes that the area surrounding the Capitol is part of the new Downtown Little Rock Master Plan, which aims to double the downtown population over the next decade.
Additionally, Mullenix owns the property at 1900 W. Third St., where Mar Y Tierra restaurant was previously located. The future of this spot is still uncertain, but Mullenix is open to leasing it for a restaurant or office space.
Overall, the Mullenixes are working to revitalize the area across from the State Capitol and hope to bring new development that complements the historic surroundings.
