Kianga, a 17-year-old chimpanzee at the Little Rock Zoo, welcomed her new baby with no name revealed yet by the zoo. The chimpanzee habitat will be closed to the public for a few days to allow mother and baby to bond. Kianga, who moved to Little Rock from Albuquerque BioPark Zoo in 2020, is a first-time mother. The zoo has been filled with cuteness lately, with the recent addition of two ringtails named Austin and Amethyst from the Oklahoma City Zoo, as well as the birth of Kota, a baby orangutan in February. Additionally, two baby blue-eyed black lemurs, named after celebrities Daniel Radcliffe and Taylor Swift, are on display daily at the zoo. Sophie, a 54-year-old Asian elephant, is currently in hospice care at the zoo. The Little Rock Zoo sends out a weekly email newsletter with news, promotions, and discounts to keep visitors updated on the latest happenings. With so many adorable new arrivals and ongoing events, the Little Rock Zoo is a must-visit destination for animal lovers of all ages.
