Renowned pitmaster Matt Knight, of KnightFire BBQ, has announced plans to relocate his popular barbecue joint from South Main Street to 1404 E. Race Ave. in Searcy. The new location, previously home to El Paraiso Acapulco Mexican restaurant, will offer indoor dining for up to 65 guests, a larger kitchen, and increased parking.
Knight’s journey from a caterer to a food truck operator to a brick-and-mortar restaurant owner has been chronicled since 2018. Known for his Texas-style brisket, Knight initially faced challenges in introducing the expensive and uncommon cut of meat to Central Arkansas barbecue enthusiasts. However, KnightFire quickly became known as the go-to place for brisket, now serving 500-600 pounds of it weekly.
The restaurant’s cooking setup boasts two 1,000-gallon offset pits, providing a true wood-fired barbecue experience. In addition to brisket, KnightFire offers pulled pork, spare ribs, turkey, chicken, house-made jalapeno and cheese sausage, and unique dishes like the “Burger Nirvana” and brisket quesadillas.
While an official opening date for the new location is pending, KnightFire continues to operate at its current South Main Street spot. Fans can stay updated on the progress on their website.
For BBQ enthusiasts and food lovers in Searcy and beyond, the anticipation is high for KnightFire’s move to a larger space, promising an enhanced dining experience and continued excellence in smoked meats and specialty dishes.
