Judges from the Pulaski County courts will be providing leniencies such as waiving or reducing court fees and reinstating driver’s licenses for eligible cases at the upcoming “Get Right with the Court” event. The event, in collaboration with the Little Rock Department of Community Programs, will take place at the Pulaski County Courthouse this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Residents with cases in the circuit and district courts can have their warrants recalled for child support, financial obligations, and failure-to-appear for first-time offenders. Participants will not be sent to jail for unpaid fines or fees.
In addition to the court services, organizations like Goodwill Industries of Arkansas and the Center for Arkansas Legal Services will also be providing support services such as voter registration, re-entry support, employment and housing opportunities, GED and technical training, and information on criminal record sealing.
This event aims to help residents who have faced barriers in fully re-engaging in society by addressing legal and financial matters that have held them back. The judges and participating organizations hope to provide a second chance for those who may have been struggling with court fees, driver’s license issues, or other legal obligations.
