Arkansas offensive lineman Patrick Kutas made his debut against Mississippi State after sitting out the first seven games of the season due to a back injury. Kutas contributed to the Razorbacks’ season-high 359 rushing yards and 58 points scored against the Bulldogs, the most they had given up all year. Despite only having four games left in the season, Kutas can still redshirt and retain this year of eligibility by playing in three more games.
Head coach Sam Pittman plans to play Kutas in four games, with his next appearance set to be against Ole Miss, a team he grew up disliking due to his proximity to the school in Memphis. Kutas, a versatile player who has shifted positions on the offensive line, is eager to face the Rebels and make an impact on the team. He expressed his commitment to the Razorbacks despite being recruited by other programs, choosing Arkansas as his home away from family.
Kutas and fellow lineman Joshua Braun were seen praying with an opponent after their victory over Mississippi State, showing camaraderie on the field. Kutas will have a chance at revenge against Ole Miss after a close loss last year at center, and hopes to contribute to another win at home, as the Rebels have not won in Fayetteville since 2008. With Kutas adjusting to new roles and showcasing his determination, Arkansas fans are hopeful for a strong performance from the team against their SEC rivals.
