The Detroit Tigers are set to introduce new technology inside Comerica Park with the construction of a luxurious Home Plate Club. The club will feature seats with quick-touch heating and cooling climate control technology, a first in all of professional sports. Members of the club will also have access to VIP parking, a private entrance, a dedicated bar, concierge team, private restrooms, and fine dining options.
The Home Plate Club will offer two premium seating options, allowing fans to enjoy the game up-close in plush seats behind home plate or from lodge box seats above the action. Fans interested in becoming members can request information or place a deposit to secure their spot.
Ryan Gustafson, President and CEO of Ilitch Sports + Entertainment, expressed excitement about the upgrades, stating that they are aimed at providing best-in-class experiences for all fans. The construction of the Home Plate Club comes after the team made several other enhancements to Comerica Park, including LED field lighting, a new videoboard, upgraded sound systems, new development facilities in Lakeland, and a new player academy in the Dominican Republic.
The new features are set to be unveiled in the 2025 season and are part of the organization’s ongoing efforts to invest in premium experiences for fans. The Home Plate Club will transform an area of the stadium previously used for equipment storage, grounds crew operations, and umpire locker rooms into a luxurious space for fans to enjoy the game in style.
