Outcome of the 2024 General Election in Arkansas

In the recent Arkansas election, several key races were decided, with Republicans maintaining their dominance in the U.S. House of Representatives. Incumbents French Hill, Rick Crawford, Steve Womack, and Bruce Westerman all secured re-election against their Democratic challengers, with reproductive rights being a central theme in some campaigns.

Locally, Antwan Phillips won re-election as a City Director in Little Rock, while Joan Adcock held on to her seat on the City Board by a narrow margin. Voters in Little Rock rejected two sales tax increases proposed by Mayor Frank Scott Jr., aimed at funding parks, public safety, infrastructure, and youth sports complexes.

Issue 1, which allows lottery-funded scholarships to apply to vocational or technical school education, was approved by a wide margin. Issue 2, which requires local approval for new casinos in the state, was also on track to pass.

In judicial races, Karen Baker appeared poised to become the first woman to serve as Chief Justice of the Arkansas Supreme Court. Circuit Judge Casey Tucker was leading in the race to fill a vacant seat on the Arkansas Court of Appeals. In Legislative races, Republican candidates maintained control in several key districts, with Rep. Julie Mayberry, Sen. Mark Johnson, and Rep. David Ray all winning re-election.

Overall, the election results in Arkansas show a continued Republican presence in key positions, with several measures being approved or on track to pass. These results will shape the political landscape in the state for years to come.
