The Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame has recently announced its 2025 class, celebrating the achievements of some of the state’s most talented athletes and coaches. This year’s inductees include football star Darren McFadden, basketball legend Sidney Moncrief, and baseball Hall of Famer George Kell.
McFadden, a two-time Heisman Trophy finalist, had a stellar career at the University of Arkansas before being drafted by the Oakland Raiders in 2008. He went on to become one of the most successful running backs in NFL history, earning two Pro Bowl selections during his time in the league.
Moncrief, known for his defensive prowess and scoring ability, played for the University of Arkansas before being drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks in 1979. He was a five-time NBA All-Star and two-time Defensive Player of the Year, cementing his legacy as one of the greatest guards in the history of the sport.
Kell, a native of Swifton, Arkansas, had a distinguished career in Major League Baseball, playing for the Detroit Tigers, Boston Red Sox, and Chicago White Sox. He was a ten-time All-Star and won the American League batting title in 1949, earning him a spot in the Baseball Hall of Fame.
The Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame recognizes the contributions of athletes and coaches who have made a lasting impact on the state’s sports history.
