The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission has released updated habitat and water level information for several wildlife management areas in the state. In Dardanelle WMA, half-day hunting is available at McKennon Bottoms and Potter’s Pothole Hartman Waterfowl Unit with 100% water coverage. In Point Remove WMA, staged flooding of waterfowl impoundments has begun, with various water levels ranging from 0% to 80% in different units. Frog Bayou WMA is under construction, with certain units closed until February 15. Various units have 100% water coverage, while others are rainfall-dependent or currently being pumped. Galla Creek WMA has a water level of 25%. Nimrod Lloyd Millwood WMA has a water level of 1% due to rainfall dependence. Ozark Lake WMA/Dyer Lake Water Unit has different water levels ranging from 75% to 100% coverage. Petit Jean River WMA has ongoing renovation work affecting water levels, with some units at 0% and others dictated by river levels. Overall, the various WMAs in Arkansas offer a diverse range of habitats for wildlife, with water levels and access points being closely monitored for optimal hunting and wildlife viewing opportunities.
