UK-based battery supplier Echion Technologies has announced a partnership with Australia’s Switch Technologies to showcase its ultra-fast charge technology in a Toyota Land Cruiser 79 Series off-road vehicle. The collaboration between the two companies resulted in the development of new XNO battery modules and packs to hybridize the Land Cruiser, marking a significant advancement in battery technology for heavy-duty industries.
Echion’s XNO materials, based on proprietary mixed niobium oxide compositions and microparticle designs, allow lithium-ion batteries to fast charge in less than 10 minutes, maintain high energy densities in extreme temperatures, and deliver high power over a cycle life of more than 10,000 cycles. The partnership aims to demonstrate the benefits of XNO anode materials in improving battery performance and efficiency.
