Son of deceased Supreme Court justice interested in purchasing El Dorado dispensary

Grant Wynne, the son of late state Supreme Court Justice Robin Wynne, has applied for approval from state regulators to purchase a medical marijuana dispensary in El Dorado. The Arkansas Medical Marijuana Commission will review his request to buy Zen Leaf dispensary at its upcoming meeting on Dec. 12. Currently, the dispensary is owned by Kathryn Crimmins and Stephen Dorf. Approval from the commission is necessary for any changes in ownership of medical marijuana businesses in the state.

Robin Wynne, who served on the state Supreme Court until his passing last year, has spurred his son’s interest in the medical marijuana industry. In addition to Wynne, the Trulove family is also expanding their presence in the Arkansas medical marijuana market. Jessica Trulove is seeking approval from the commission to become the sole owner of Revolution Cannabis, a cultivation facility in Newport.

This is not the first venture for the Trulove family in the industry, as they recently acquired a dispensary in Clarksville as well. Jessica’s husband, Matt Trulove, already owns a stake in another cultivation facility in Berryville. State law allows individuals to own interests in one dispensary and one cultivation facility, without placing restrictions on ownership interests of other family members.

The upcoming meeting of the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Commission will be an important event for both the Wynne and Trulove families as they look to expand their presence in the state’s growing medical marijuana market.
