Southern Arkansas University to host virtual meeting for Arkansas Political Science Association

The Arkansas Political Science Association is holding its annual conference virtually this weekend, hosted by Southern Arkansas University. The conference will feature Governor Asa Hutchinson as the guest speaker, addressing the association from Little Rock. Keynote speaker Adam Jentleson, a veteran of presidential campaigns and former Deputy Chief of Staff to U.S. Senator Harry Reid, will also address the virtual audience.

Jentleson, known as a “rules whiz,” has extensive experience in political, legislative, and communications strategy. His writings have been featured in major news outlets, and he is the author of the book “Kill Switch: The Rise of the Modern Senate and the Crippling of American Democracy.” The conference will include roundtable discussions and panels on various topics, including online classroom dynamics, American government and politics, political theory, the status of women in politics, and public administration.

Attendees, consisting mainly of professors and historians from Arkansas universities, will also participate in undergraduate student research and discussions on innovations in undergraduate political science education. The conference aims to provide a platform for scholarly exchange and dialogue on current political issues. Governor Hutchinson’s address and Jentleson’s keynote are expected to be highlights of the event.
