The International Oleander Society recently held its annual membership luncheon at Moody Gardens Hotel, during which new officers for 2025 were elected. The event was sponsored by various local businesses and families, and featured a presentation on the history and future of the society. Special guests included descendants of families involved in bringing the oleander to Galveston, with a garden park dedicated to one of the key figures, Betty Head, open to the public for visitation. The society continues to promote the presence and beauty of oleanders on the island, preserving their legacy for generations to come.
