Little Rock kicks off School Choice Informational Tour: Your Guide to Making the Right Decision

The Reform Alliance and the Arkansas Department of Education are partnering to inform parents about school choice options available to students in the state. Through funding provided by the LEARNS Act, parents now have the freedom to choose between public, private, charter, or homeschooling for their children. The Educational Freedom Account and the Philanthropic Investment in Arkansas Kids (PIAK) tax credit scholarship are some of the resources available to families. The goal is to empower parents to make decisions that best fit their child’s educational needs and development. Despite school choice being used by less than 10% of students in Arkansas, officials hope that increased awareness and information sessions will help parents understand their options and find programs that can assist them. Meeting sessions about school choice will be held across the state, with the first one starting in Walnut Ridge next week. By attending these meetings, parents can learn more about the various education options available to them and how to access funding to support their child’s schooling.
