Grant Karnes, Greenwood wide receiver, seizes opportunity with Arkansas Razorbacks by believing in himself

Greenwood High School in Arkansas has a reputation for producing talented football players, and Grant Karnes hopes to continue that tradition. The class of 2025 wide receiver recently committed to play for the Razorbacks at the University of Arkansas. Karnes, who was initially committed to play baseball at Wichita State, made the decision to focus on football and pursue a preferred walk-on opportunity at Arkansas under coach Ronnie Fouch.

After waiting for roster numbers to work out, Karnes received a call from head coach Sam Pittman offering him a spot on the team. Karnes, a 6-foot-1, 180-pound athlete, was thrilled with the opportunity and officially committed on National Signing Day. He described the experience as a dream come true and is excited to continue his football career at the collegiate level.

Karnes made the switch from baseball to football, attending camps and showcasing his skills to earn the preferred walk-on offer from the Razorbacks. His hard work and dedication paid off, as he now looks forward to playing for his home state team and following in the footsteps of other legendary Greenwood High School alumni who have gone on to succeed at the college level.

With his athleticism and determination, Karnes is poised to make an impact on the Razorbacks football program and is eager to contribute to the team’s success in the coming years.
