Mavis Watson Housley, a beloved member of the Little Rock community, passed away on February 8, 2025. Known for her positive attitude and love for her family, Mavis leaves behind a legacy of generosity and care. She had a fulfilling career at Arkansas Rehabilitation Services and was a dedicated member of First Missionary Baptist Church. Mavis enjoyed reading, gardening, and traveling with her husband, T.J. Housley, whom she cherished dearly.
She is survived by her husband, daughter, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, stepchildren, siblings, and numerous other family members. Mavis will be remembered at a memorial service on February 22, 2025, at Hillcrest Chapel in Little Rock. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society in her honor. Mavis will be cremated, per her wishes.
Mavis’ passing is a loss to all who knew her, but her memory will live on through the love and care she shared with those around her. Special appreciation is given to Kim Gasca and Rose Brewer for their exceptional support during this difficult time. The legacy of Mavis Watson Housley will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
