A 37-year-old woman and her 2-year-old daughter died after a car intentionally plowed into a crowd in Munich, Germany, with at least 37 people injured in the attack. The incident took place the day before a major security conference was set to begin. The suspect, a 24-year-old Afghan national, stated in a police interview that he purposely drove into the crowd for religious reasons, leading authorities to treat the incident as Islamic extremism. The suspect was charged with 36 counts of attempted murder, as well as grievous bodily harm and reckless driving. The names of the deceased victims have not been released.
