Arkansas Senate Acknowledges Soccer


The University of Arkansas at Fayetteville Razorbacks women’s soccer team has been recognized by the Senate of the 95th General Assembly of the State of Arkansas for their outstanding achievements in the 2024 season. The team finished with an impressive record of 16-2-3 and achieved the number one ranking in college soccer polls for the first time in program history. They also earned a number two seed in the NCAA tournament, the highest in program history, and advanced to the Sweet Sixteen for the fourth time in program history.

Coach Colby Hale led the team to all eleven of its NCAA tournament appearances and boasted a record of 189-82-31 in Fayetteville. The team had a total attendance of 29,734 in 2024, the fourth highest among all NCAA women’s soccer teams, with an average attendance of 2,287. Ava Tankersley was named first team All-American and Southeastern Conference Forward of the Year for the second straight season.

In addition, six team members were named to the All-SEC teams, three were named to the All-SEC Freshman team, and two were named to the SEC All-Tournament team. The team set a school single-match attendance record with 4,000 fans and led the nation in several statistical categories such as scoring average, total goals, and assists per game.

The Senate resolution recognizes the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville Razorbacks women’s soccer team for their superlative achievements in 2024 and acknowledges their dedication and hard work throughout the season. Coach Colby Hale will be presented with a copy of the resolution by the Secretary of the Senate to commemorate the team’s success.
