Lynda Gayle Bowman Venable Jelks, an extraordinary individual, passed away on March 1, 2025, at the age of 82. Born in Pampa, Texas in 1942, she was known for her cheerful personality and dedication to helping others. Lynda graduated from North Little Rock Senior High School in 1960, where she was childhood friends with Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. She worked as a medical technician in Arkansas and Florida for many years, and was active in Arkansas politics as well.
Lynda is survived by her husband, Bill Jelks, and her two sons, Craig Venable and Chris Venable, as well as her beloved dog, Halle. She was a dedicated volunteer for charitable causes and always went out of her way to lend a helping hand to those in need. Lynda enjoyed playing tennis, gardening, walking on the beach during her time on the Emerald Coast, and traveling the world with Bill, including a memorable world cruise in 2012.
