ESPN’s long-running discussion and debate show, “Around the Horn,” will be airing its final episode on May 23 after more than 23 years on the air. The program, which premiered in 2002 with host Max Kellerman before being taken over by Tony Reali in 2004, has produced over 4,900 episodes. ESPN executive VP David Roberts praised the show’s longevity and accomplishments, thanking not only the on-air contributors but also the production team led by Erik Rydholm and Aaron Solomon. Panelists over the years have included popular names in sports journalism like JA Adande, Jemele Hill, Bomani Jones, and Mina Kimes, among others.
After the final episode of “Around the Horn” airs, ESPN will replace it with a 30-minute edition of “SportsCenter” on weekdays at 5 p.m. ET during the summer. The show’s departure marks the end of an era in sports debate television, leaving a legacy of spirited discussions and memorable moments behind. Fans of the show will have the opportunity to celebrate its many accomplishments before its final sign-off in May.
