Softball Suffers Defeat in Midweek Match against Memphis

The Central Arkansas softball team suffered a tough 7-6 loss to Memphis despite a late rally. The Bears now stand at 8-11 for the season, with Addie Graham, Madi Young, and Lilly Hood leading the offense with multiple hits and walks. The team struggled to find timely hits in the game, resulting in just their second home loss of the season.

The windy conditions made pitching a challenge for both teams early on, with Memphis taking an early lead in the first inning. Central Arkansas managed to score a run in response but fell behind as the game progressed. In the seventh inning, a rally led by Hood, Mortimer, and Veach tied the game at 6-6, but Memphis came back to score in the eighth inning, ultimately sealing the win.

Despite the loss, Addie Graham extended her hitting streak to ten games, while Vessier and Mortimer reached five games. The Bears will be hosting Omaha and Illinois State in the upcoming Milisa Moore/Shane Lamb Memorial Tournament. They will be facing Omaha in their next game on Friday at 2:30 PM.

The team is looking to bounce back from this loss and continue their quest for success in the tournament. Fans can expect an exciting matchup as the Bears aim to showcase their skills and determination on the field.
