The Washington County Democratic Party is set to hold their monthly meeting on Monday, where they will discuss the work being done by Indivisible NWA and how to get involved. The meeting will take place at the party’s headquarters in Springdale from 6-8 p.m., with updates about the Arkansas Legislature also on the agenda. Volunteer opportunities and membership information will be available, with a requirement of membership to vote.
The Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War McPherson Camp No. 1 will also have their monthly meeting on Monday in Bentonville. The patriotic, fraternal organization, made up of descendants of Union Army veterans, will gather at the Guess Who community meeting room.
Meanwhile, the Senior Democrats of Northwest Arkansas will meet on Tuesday in Fayetteville, with a speaker discussing empowering women through Restore Humanity. Lunch reservations are required for this event.
NWA Mensa will have a meeting on Thursday at Taziki’s Mediterranean Cafe in Fayetteville, while the Republican Party of Benton County will meet for lunch on Friday. The Benton County Senior Democrats will have their monthly meeting on March 24 at Golden Corral in Rogers.
Additionally, the Fayetteville/Springdale Elks Lodge No. 1987 recently held their annual Americanism Essay Contest, with winners from fifth through eighth grades sharing their thoughts on patriotism. LaDonna Williams, owner of Pine Creek Quilt’s, will also be teaching a paper piecing class at the Pieces ‘N Patches Quilt Club meeting on March 17.
