Russia launches air attacks on Ukraine hours after Trump call, Putin accused of playing games – Latest updates on Ukraine war | World News

Russia and Ukraine are in the headlines again as they trade accusations of launching air attacks that have damaged infrastructure in both countries. This comes just hours after Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed to a 30-day pause in energy attacks during a call with US President Donald Trump. Despite this agreement, Russian forces proceeded to launch an airstrike on energy infrastructure in Slovyansk, Ukraine, leaving part of the city without electricity. Ukrainian officials have criticized Putin for going back on his word and accused Russia of attacking civilian infrastructure. Meanwhile, Russia has claimed that Ukraine has failed to honor the agreement, with their defense ministry reporting the destruction of 57 Ukrainian drones overnight.

In addition to the attacks on infrastructure, both countries have reported drone attacks. Ukraine’s military said that Russia launched 145 drones overnight, including on the capital city of Kyiv, while Russia claimed to have destroyed 57 Ukrainian drones, with one attack sparking a fire at an oil depot in Krasnodar, Russia. The small fire resulted in the evacuation of 30 employees and the suspension of work at the facility.

The situation between Russia and Ukraine remains tense, with both sides accusing each other of violating agreements and escalating the conflict. The international community is closely monitoring the situation as the two countries continue to trade accusations and launch attacks on each other’s infrastructure.
