Is Karter Knox related to Kevin Knox? Exploring the link between the Arkansas star and Warriors forward

The University of Arkansas made headlines with their hire of head coach John Calipari for the 2024-2025 season, following his departure from Kentucky. This move attracted a wave of incoming talent, including freshman guard Karter Knox, who had originally been committed to Kentucky. Knox, the younger brother of former Kentucky player Kevin Knox II, decided to switch allegiances and play for Coach Cal at Arkansas. This decision paid off as Knox helped the Razorbacks achieve a 22-13 regular season record, a ninth-place finish in the SEC, and a slot as the 10th seed in the 2025 NCAA Tournament.

Karter Knox, born in Riverview, Florida, is a 6-6 small forward who attended Tampa Catholic High School before transferring to Overtime Elite Academy in Atlanta to further develop his skills. Considered a top-30 prospect in his class, Knox’s choice to follow Calipari to Arkansas over staying committed to Kentucky paid off for both him and the Razorbacks.

Meanwhile, Kevin Knox II, the elder brother, saw success as a one-and-done player at Kentucky before being selected No. 9 overall by the Knicks in the 2018 NBA Draft. Throughout his career, Kevin has played for multiple teams, including the Hawks, Pistons, Trail Blazers, and Warriors. Karter’s decision to chart his own path and play for Arkansas rather than follow in his brother’s footsteps at Kentucky has proven to be a fruitful choice for his budding basketball career.

In his freshman year at Arkansas, Karter Knox put up solid stats, averaging 8.0 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game. As he continues to develop his skills under Calipari’s coaching, the future looks promising for this talented young player.
