Red Wolves Defeat Bears in First of Two Matchups

The University of Central Arkansas Bears suffered a 12-2 loss to the Arkansas State Red Wolves in a non-conference baseball game at Bear Stadium. The Bears made four errors, contributing to the Red Wolves’ offensive success. Despite initially cutting the deficit to 3-2 in the second inning with a home run from catcher Casey Shipley, the Bears struggled to contain the Red Wolves’ offense, which scored nine consecutive runs.

The Bears utilized seven different pitchers in the game, with mixed success in slowing down the Red Wolves’ hitters. They managed to collect seven hits from seven different players but were ultimately overpowered by the Red Wolves’ 13 hits.

Looking ahead, the Bears will return to Atlantic Sun Conference action with a three-game series against Eastern Kentucky, marking the end of their eight-game home stand. The games are scheduled for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at Bear Stadium. Additionally, the Bears will face the Red Wolves again next Tuesday in Jonesboro.

The loss against the Red Wolves serves as a learning opportunity for the Bears as they continue their season in the Atlantic Sun Conference. Fans can look forward to watching the Bears bounce back as they aim for success in their upcoming games.
