Red Door, the longstanding restaurant in Little Rock’s Riverdale neighborhood, will be closing for renovations on April 1, with plans to reopen in early 2026. The Remolinos Group, led by Fidel Samour, purchased Red Door and sister restaurant Loca Luna last summer. The renovation will include updates to the atmosphere, menu, and service to enhance the guest experience.
During the closure, Loca Luna will be offering Red Door’s popular weekend brunch menu and some dinner favorites on its lunch and dinner menus. Loca Luna will also undergo renovations, but management expects minimal disruption to service. Red Door, located at the corner of Cantrell and Old Cantrell roads, has a rich history as a former home to several restaurants, including Steak and Egg and Toddle House.
The space was originally the location of Peter Brave’s Brave New Restaurant before becoming Red Door in 2009 under former owner Mark Abernathy. Abernathy also owns Loca Luna, which he opened nearly 30 years ago. The restaurant has since expanded to include a bar area, kitchen, and patio section.
