As death toll in Myanmar earthquake surpasses 2,700, new images show extensive destruction caused by quake


A 63-year-old woman was found alive in Myanmar capital, Naypyitaw, more than 90 hours after a devastating earthquake struck the region. Monks are also believed to be trapped under rubble as many monasteries collapsed during the quake. Rescue efforts are ongoing in Bangkok, Thailand, where high-rises swayed and a 30-story building under construction collapsed, resulting in at least 20 deaths. Heavy machinery is being used to remove cement slabs in order to rescue trapped workers at the site of the collapsed building. Scores of workers remain trapped in the rubble as rescue teams work tirelessly to save them.
