Arkansas defeats Grambling State in midweek game, 7-4

The No. 2 Arkansas Razorbacks secured a 7-4 victory over the Grambling State Tigers on Tuesday at Dickey-Stephens Park. Sophomore pitcher Tate McGuire impressed in his first start, striking out four batters in 4.0 innings. The Razorbacks’ bullpen also performed well, with three pitchers combining for four innings of relief. The top of the lineup, including Charles Davalan and Wehiwa and Kuhio Aloy, each contributed two hits to the team’s 7-for-29 at the plate. Despite the inward wind at the park, McGuire started strong with a hitless first inning.

The Razorbacks took a 1-0 lead in the first inning, with Brent Iredale hitting a sac-fly. The Tigers eventually tied the game, but the Razorbacks regained the lead in the third inning with hits from Davalan and Aloy. The team added three more runs in the same inning to take a 5-1 lead. Despite some runs from the Tigers in the later innings, the Razorbacks secured the win.

The team will now prepare to face the Missouri Tigers at Baum-Walker Stadium this weekend. The upcoming game on Friday will air on SEC Network at 7 p.m. CT. The Razorbacks’ victory against Grambling State highlights their strong performance this season and sets the stage for an exciting matchup against Missouri.
