New Lines Institute for Strategy and Policy is set to unveil its latest series of policy analysis and recommendations on the technology race with China in a launch event at the National Press Club in D.C. on April 11, 2025. Titled “Future-Proofing U.S. Technology: Strategic Priorities Amid Chinese Tech Advancement,” the compendium will cover topics such as AI innovation, cryptocurrency, cybersecurity, and supply-chain sustainability of critical minerals.
Former Department of Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff will provide opening remarks, followed by a panel discussion featuring industry experts on immediate opportunities for tech innovation and regulation in the United States. New Lines Institute aims to initiate a conversation with policymakers, industry leaders, and academics through the launch of this work.
Panelists include Gavin Moore, Director of Forgefront; Sam Douglas-Bate, Managing Director & Co-founder of Forgefront; and Courtney Manning, Director of AI Imperative 2030 at the American Security Project. The discussion will be moderated by Kelsey Quinn, Head of Tech Sovereignty & Security Portfolio at New Lines Institute.
The event will take place from 1-3 p.m. EDT at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., with an option for virtual attendance. Drinks and light fare will be provided at the venue, and a virtual link will be provided upon registration confirmation.
