The Barnaby Group, known for restaurants George’s and the Town Pump, is set to open a new spot in Little Rock’s Heights neighborhood called The Lady, as well as a hospitality retreat called South School in Fayetteville. The Lady will be a neighborhood pub with a Tudor-inspired design, featuring a fireplace-lit dining room, street-level and rooftop patios, and two full bars. The menu will offer pub fare with a Southern twist and is scheduled to open in early 2027. Little Rock couple John and Mary Olive Stephens founded the Barnaby Group and opened George’s in 2023. Mary has a background in special events management in New York and London, while John is now co-CEO of Stephens Inc. In addition to The Lady, the Barnaby Group is also planning to open South School in Fayetteville, a nature-based retreat with farm-driven menus, an on-site brewery, and a working farm. Chefs Poncho and Danie Vasquez, known for their work in Michelin star kitchens, will be leading the culinary team. South School is expected to open in spring 2026 with forest cabins and event spaces to follow. The group’s expansion into Northwest Arkansas reflects a commitment to blending hospitality, agriculture, and nature into a unique dining experience.
