Florida investigators have identified two teenagers, Jeik Aniluz Lusi, 18, and Elvis Borques Castillo, 16, from the Dominican Republic, whose bodies were found in the landing gear of a JetBlue flight traveling from New York City to Fort Lauderdale in January. The bodies were discovered after the flight landed at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. Extensive DNA testing was used to positively identify the teens. The flight had also made a stop in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic before arriving in Florida. The cause of death has not been officially stated and it is unclear how the teens gained access to the landing gear. The Broward County Sheriff’s Office made the announcement on Tuesday, bringing closure to the tragic incident.
