Experience the magic of the night sky this week with an incredible lineup of planets and bright stars visible from Guam. Early risers can catch a stunning view of Venus, joined by Mercury and Saturn in the eastern sky before dawn. Meanwhile, Jupiter and Mars are shining bright in the evening sky, alongside the famous constellation Orion.
In April and May, Guam residents can witness an impressive display of eight of the 10 brightest stars, 15 of the 20 brightest stars, and the largest and smallest constellations – all at the same time during the Magic Half Hour between 9:45 and 10:15 p.m. Those who can’t stay up late can still catch sight of six bright stars by going outside at 7:30 p.m.
Using recognizable constellations like Orion and the Big Dipper, stargazers can easily locate some of the brightest stars in the night sky. The full moon on Sunday night, also known as the Pink Moon, will add an extra touch of magic to the evening.
