In Little Rock, Arkansas, a group of quilters known as Quilts of Valor are honoring veterans by creating handmade quilts to bring comfort and peace. The Let Freedom Ring quilters, led by Teresa Moreno, gather monthly to craft unique gifts for veterans in need. Their goal is to honor and support veterans who may feel forgotten. Recently, Let Freedom Ring and another group, Never Forgotten in Arkansas, presented quilts to Vietnam era vets during a Memorial Day ceremony, adding to the 405,649 quilts awarded nationally since the organization started in 2003.
Arkansas boasts a total of 11 Quilts of Valor groups, each working diligently to create quilts for veterans in their community. The Let Freedom Ring quilters are always working on new projects to present to deserving veterans.
