Suspect apprehended following shooting at Texas high school that injures 4

Four students were injured, three with gunshot wounds, after a shooting at Wilmer-Hutchins High School in Dallas. The students, ages 15 to 18, suffered injuries ranging from serious to non-life-threatening. The gunman was identified but initially at large, later being arrested and taken into custody. The incident occurred after 1 p.m., prompting students to evacuate the main school building. The gun did not enter the building during the primary intake period when students pass through metal detectors. District officials did not disclose how the weapon entered the building or what led up to the shooting. The school had previously experienced a shooting incident in a classroom the year before. Dallas Independent School District Superintendent Stephanie Elizalde expressed frustration over the increasing frequency of such incidents in schools. Classes at the school were canceled for the rest of the week, with counselors available to help students cope with the aftermath of the shooting. The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, and district police are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
