Officials provide updates on transportation projects in Northwest Arkansas

Area transportation leaders in Northwest Arkansas provided updates on key projects during a recent event hosted by the Bentonville Area Chamber of Commerce. Robert Moore from ARDOT shared that over $1.5 billion in highway projects have been completed, under construction, or set to start soon in Benton County. This includes the Springdale Northern Bypass, which will be completed in 2027 and the XNA connector road, expected to be finished by mid-2027.

Marshall Saviers highlighted how the connector road will open up the west side of Bentonville and Benton County for development and ease congestion. The Highway 112 widening project will also help alleviate traffic and cost between $300-350 million.

Updates were also provided on the Razorback Greenway project, aiming to enhance the 40-mile trail for recreational and active transportation use. The project will be completed in two phases, with a focus on developing a vision for the greenway to make Northwest Arkansas an even better place to live and work. The goal is to connect the cities along the greenway and promote development opportunities to attract more residents and businesses.

Overall, these transportation projects are vital to the continued growth and development of Northwest Arkansas. They will improve connectivity, reduce congestion, and enhance the quality of life for residents in the region. As the area continues to expand, investments in transportation infrastructure will be crucial to supporting economic development and ensuring a high quality of life for the community.
