Central Arkansas Bears Make History at ASUN Outdoor Track & Field Championships
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – In a historic performance, the Central Arkansas Bears dominated the 2025 ASUN Outdoor Track & Field Championships, capturing both the men’s and women’s titles for the first time in program history. The event took place this past weekend in Jacksonville.
The UCA men’s team delivered a stunning show, amassing 225.5 points, significantly ahead of runner-up Lipscomb with 141 points and North Florida at 130. The Bears excelled across various disciplines, clinching victories in eight events and achieving podium sweeps in multiple categories. Notably, Jeremiah Boudreaux was named the Most Valuable Performer, racking up 27 points. He achieved individual wins in the 110m hurdles (13.98 seconds) and 200m (20.95 seconds) and contributed to the championship-winning 4x100m relay team.
Head Coach Josey Weaver celebrated a remarkable achievement, being named ASUN Men’s Coach of the Year for leading the men’s team to its inaugural title in the conference.
The UCA women’s team followed suit, scoring 192 points to secure their own ASUN Championship, outpacing Lipscomb (132 points) and Eastern Kentucky (97 points). Their impressive performance spanned events in sprints, throws, vaults, and relays, showcasing their depth and competitive spirit.
Weaver also earned the distinction of ASUN Women’s Coach of the Year, marking a historic milestone as the first coach to lead both teams to championships in the same season.
This championship weekend underlined the exceptional growth and competitive prowess of the Central Arkansas Bears, solidifying their place as a formidable force in the ASUN conference.
