Northwestern Women’s Golf Team Advances to NCAA Match Play in Carlsbad

CARLSBAD, Calif. (May 19, 2025) – The Northwestern University Women’s Golf team has secured a spot in the match play quarterfinals of the NCAA Championship Finals after finishing third in stroke play over four rounds. With a total score of 1154 (+2), the Wildcats will face the Arkansas Razorbacks, who placed sixth.

The quarterfinals are set for Tuesday, with the Wildcats teeing off at 9:40 a.m. CT. Fans can catch the live coverage on the Golf Channel and NBC Sports App starting at Noon CT, with further broadcasts for the semifinals at 5:00 p.m. CT. Live scoring updates will be available via Scoreboard.

Key matchups for Northwestern include Dianna Lee against Kendall Todd, Elise Lee facing Reagan Zibilski, and Ashley Yun matched up with Abbey Schutte. Lauryn Nguyen will compete against Clarisa Temelo, while Hsin Tai Lin takes on Maria Jose Marin.

The Wildcats advanced to this stage for the third time since 2017, concluding Monday with a ten-over 298 round. Lauryn Nguyen was the standout player, finishing T14 with her eighth top-15 finish of the season. Other top performances came from Ashley Yun, who placed 19th, and Dianna Lee, who finished T20. Elise Lee and Hsin Tai Lin rounded out the team at T40 and T54, respectively.

On a competitive note, No. 1 Stanford dominated with a record-breaking performance, finishing at -27 overall, followed by the Big Ten champion Oregon Ducks at -6. In individual rankings, Arkansas’s Maria Jose Marin, the sixth-ranked collegiate golfer, clinched the title at -12.

As the Wildcats look toward the quarterfinals, excitement builds for their continued journey in the championship.
