Arkansas Secures Commitment from Offensive Line Prospect Ashley Walker
FAYETTEVILLE, AR – Ashley Walker, a standout offensive lineman from Hollywood, Florida, has officially committed to the University of Arkansas. After visiting the campus earlier this spring and establishing a strong rapport with the coaching staff, Walker made his decision ahead of an intended official visit scheduled for June 13.
“I’ve felt the love from them since they offered me," Walker stated in an interview with Rivals. "We’ve built a great relationship, and I look forward to returning to campus.” The coaching staff has indicated that they envision Walker playing both guard and tackle positions on either side of the line.
This year, Walker garnered double-digit scholarship offers, including one from Arkansas, following unofficial visits to several universities including Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, and Syracuse. However, with his commitment secured, Walker has opted to halt any further recruitment activities. “I made a commitment to the school, and I don’t see a reason to visit other schools while being committed,” he explained, adding that he now intends to focus on preparing for the upcoming football season.
Walker is set to lead the Lions at Chaminade Madonna, having recently transitioned from Cardinal Newman High School. The team aims to defend its state title, starting with a challenging matchup against Baltimore’s St. Frances Academy this August. Walker praised the competitive environment at his new school, which he believes will elevate his game.
Excitement surrounding his commitment is further bolstered by the opportunity to play under Head Coach Sam Pittman, known for his expertise in developing offensive linemen. “I chose Arkansas to learn and grow into one of the best,” Walker remarked. With his eyes set on the future, he is ready to make an impact in the SEC.
