Tom Daley Excited for BBC’s Celebrity Traitors
Olympic diver Tom Daley has shared his anticipation for his upcoming participation in the BBC’s Celebrity Traitors, set to air this autumn. Filmed in the picturesque Scottish Highlands, the series promises an engaging mix of strategy and deception, featuring a star-studded lineup alongside Daley, including Sir Stephen Fry, Alan Carr, and Jonathan Ross.
Daley revealed to the PA news agency that the filming experience allowed him to connect with his fellow contestants on a profound and intense level. “You’re completely shut off from the rest of the world, which makes the interactions much deeper,” he noted, adding that while he is eager to discuss the show, he is bound by confidentiality until its release.
The format of The Traitors revolves around celebrities navigating a game of trust and betrayal, where they compete for a prize of up to £100,000 for charity. Hosted by Claudia Winkleman, the series will be filmed in the historic Ardross Castle, a 19th-century estate in the Scottish Highlands, also known for hosting weddings and conferences.
Daley, 31, is also featured in a new Discovery+ documentary titled Tom Daley: 1.6 Seconds, which chronicles his journey from the 2008 Beijing Olympics to his life post-retirement, including insights from his husband, Oscar-winning screenwriter Dustin Lance Black.
The Celebrity Traitors cast comprises a diverse range of personalities, from comedians to sports stars, all vying to outwit each other. As the show approaches its premiere, Daley reflects on what he describes as a “very fun experience” filled with unforgettable moments and camaraderie.
Fans can look forward to watching the antics unfold when Celebrity Traitors airs later this year.
