Razorbacks Advance to Super Regionals with Dominant Win Over Creighton
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas Razorbacks secured their spot in the NCAA Super Regionals with an impressive 8-3 victory against the Creighton Bluejays at Baum-Walker Stadium on Sunday night. With this win, the Hogs not only celebrated their 35th home win of the season—setting a program record—but also marked their 11th appearance in the Super Regional round.
The Hogs will host the Super Regional, facing off against the winner of the NCAA Knoxville Regional title between Tennessee and Wake Forest, with games set for June 6 or 7. As the highest-seeded team remaining after the elimination of top seed Vanderbilt and No. 2 seed Texas, Arkansas is poised for a formidable showing.
Pitching was the highlight of the evening, with starter Gage Wood delivering a standout performance. Wood struck out a career-high 13 batters over six innings, while reliever Gabe Gaeckle fanned seven in three scoreless innings. Together, they held Creighton to just five hits without issuing a walk.
On the offensive side, Arkansas continued its powerful hitting, recording four home runs in the game. Logan Maxwell kicked off the scoring with a two-run homer in the first inning, and a three-run blast from Justin Thomas Jr. followed in the second. Ryder Helfrick added a solo shot in the third, and Maxwell capped off the night with another homer in the fifth. Charles Davalan also contributed with a key two-out triple.
