University of Arkansas Football Program Gears Up for Busy June Camps
FAYETTEVILLE — The University of Arkansas football program is set for an exciting June filled with camps and prospect visits. Highlighting the month is the popular youth camp on June 7, which is tailored for students in grades 2-8. Arkansas Head Coach Sam Pittman and his staff, alongside several Razorback players, will guide nearly 300 young athletes through a day of football activities, making the event a memorable experience.
Patrick Doherty, Arkansas’ football chief of staff, emphasizes the camp’s engaging structure. "We want to create a ‘wow’ factor from start to finish," he noted. Campers will tour the football complex, meet Coach Pittman, and experience a thrilling finale running through the stadium tunnel to the cheers of their parents.
Following the youth camp, the Advanced Skills Academy and Specialists Camp will take place on June 8, catering to high school students in grades 9-12. This camp includes classroom and film sessions, providing attendees a glimpse into the Razorback’s training atmosphere. Expected participation is higher this year, with about 150 young athletes registered.
Additionally, a lineman camp for grades 9-12 will occur on June 11, alongside a 7-on-7 competition for smaller classification high schools. High school camps on June 12, 13, and 14 are designed as affordable training opportunities for prospective recruits.
Doherty emphasizes the goal of these camps: to enhance players’ skills and provide exposure. "We want campers to leave better than they arrived," he stated, noting that some participants have even secured scholarship offers as a result of their performance at camp.
