Razorbacks Shine in Baseball and Track and Field Championships
Arkansas baseball players are making a significant impact this season, with several athletes earning All-American honors. Shortstop Wehiwa Aloy has garnered first team All-American accolades from both Perfect Game and the American Baseball Coaches Association, along with a second team nod from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association. Left fielder Charles Davalan and designated hitter Kuhio Aloy both received second team All-American recognition from multiple sources, including Perfect Game and the NCBWA. Additionally, starting pitcher Zach Root earned a second team spot from Perfect Game and a third team designation from the NCBWA, highlighting the exceptional talent on the Razorbacks roster.
In track and field, the Arkansas men’s team secured a commendable third place at the Outdoor NCAA Championships in Eugene, Oregon, falling just one point short of co-champions USC and Texas A&M. Jordan Anthony, a standout sprinter and dual-sport athlete, claimed the NCAA title in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.07 seconds. He also contributed to the team’s third-place finish in the 4×100-meter relay and secured a fourth-place finish in the 200-meter dash, having previously triumphed in the 60-meter dash during the indoor championships.
Meanwhile, the women’s track and field team finished eighth at the same championships, with Rosey Effiong earning a bronze medal in the 400-meter race and being part of the second-place 4×400 relay team. Paityn Noe also had a notable performance, finishing sixth in the closely contested 5K and breaking the school record in the 10K.
With strong performances across the board, the Razorbacks continue to showcase their prowess in both baseball and track and field.
